Healthy Employees
Maintaining
a healthy lifestyle can encompass a lot of work. Whether it’s eating
right, finding time to exercise, or choosing not to smoke, living
healthy can sometimes be challenging. However, in today’s corporate
world, more worksites are implementing wellness programs to help their
employees lead healthier lifestyles.
Since the
majority of adults spend most of their day at work, a worksite
wellness program can have a powerful influence on employees to adopt
healthier lifestyles. Does your workplace offer wellness programs
and/or resources to help
you
live a healthier lifestyle?
If not,
WorkWell
can help your worksite!
WorkWell
is a worksite wellness program offered by the Delaware General Health
District. This service is available to any Delaware county worksite
that is interested in offering their employees assistance in creating
positive lifestyle changes. Services offered to worksites can include:
· Assistance
in creating wellness committees for future wellness programming
· Mentoring
an existing wellness team in efforts to strengthen wellness
initiatives
· Reviewing
worksite policies, such as the 100% tobacco free campus policy, to
help create a healthier work environment
· Providing
educational materials such as bulletin boards and newsletters focusing
on various health topics
· Implementing
health screenings such as blood pressure, cholesterol, body fat
composition, and blood sugar
· Providing
health education seminars on topics such as nutrition, physical
activity, tobacco cessation and stress relief
Creating a
comprehensive wellness program that is successful involves multiple
levels of support within a business. You can be the changing force in
motivating your employer to get on board with
WorkWell.
