Healthcare Professionals Making

A Difference

The Cardiovascular Health (CVH) Coalition is committed to keeping the medical community current and up-to-date on medical cardiovascular health information.

In order to help combat childhood obesity, Ounce of Prevention is a program to educate and motivate the medical community to become proactive in nutrition, physical activity, and obesity prevention. The program is designed to provide information from the first well-baby check through the next 12 well-child exams (newborn to 6 yrs). All advice is based on childhood obesity research and current American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations.

The Delaware General Health District will be offering a training on the toolkit for those physician offices and clinics interested in participating in Ounce of Prevention to help fight childhood obesity. Any health care professional interested in using Ounce of Prevention materials should contact Nicole Harmon, Health Educator at (740)-203-2086 or nicole@delawarehealth.org.
