Permitting Procedure

Residential Services Home

The Sanitarians in the Residential Services Unit issue permits and inspect the installation of all new or altered sewage treatment systems (STS) within the DGHD in order to protect and improve the waterways within Delaware County. Abandoned systems are also inspected to ensure they do not present a future hazard. Plans for new systems are reviewed to ensure the best available technology is being used. This unit also provides education to both homeowners and STS installers. Consultations are available by phone, in person at our office, or at our Homeowner’s Education Workshops.
