DGHD holds two STS Contractor Meetings/Trainings each year.  Typically, one in the winter/spring and then one in the fall.  ALL registered STS installers, liquid waste haulers, and service providers are encouraged to attend these meetings, as are STS designers and soil scientists.  Please contact Residential Services staff for information about any upcoming meetings.

Other agencies, such as the Ohio Department of Health and Ohio State University, also offer training.  Links to external agency sites are below.

Ohio State University’s Soil Environment Technology Learning Lab: http://setll.osu.edu/

Ohio Onsite Wastewater Association: http://ohioonsite.org/

Operator Training Committee of Ohio: http://www.ohiowater.org/OTCO/

National Environmental Health Association: http://www.neha.org/research/onsite_wastewater.htm

Please keep in mind that, in order to register, each year all installers, haulers, and service providers must show competency.  One of the ways to show competency is to achieve a minimum of six (6) Continuing Education hours.  Both DGHD’s meetings/trainings and trainings attended elsewhere can be used to fulfill this requirement.  Please contact Residential Services staff with any specific questions.
