Daycare Provider Classes
Because young children do not have the capability or understanding needed to protect themselves from communicable disease, it is important that their daycare providers know how to recognize it and prevent it. The Health District provides a curriculum for these providers based on the Caring for Our Children Foundation, as well as state and national standards regarding the control of infectious diseases in the daycare setting. This course has been designed/approved to meet the requirements of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Ohio Department of Education for communicable disease training in licensed child care centers.
The class topics cover:
- How diseases are spread
- Prevention and control of diseases
- Caring for a well or ill child
- Policy and procedures
- Common communicable disease.
