Mission
Statement
The purpose of Keep Delaware County Beautiful, an affiliate of Keep America
Beautiful, Inc., is to serve the citizens of Delaware County by developing
effective public education and community improvement programs. These programs
will enhance the quality of life and economic development of the
community by instilling pride; positive attitude and behavior change regarding
natural resource conservation, littering, recycling, proper solid waste
management, and beautification.
To
meet these Goals KDCB Conducts educational presentations to schools and
community groups. We also provide volunteer opportunities through the
Adopt-A-Roadway (Application
form) and Adopt-An-Area by Kids
(Application form) programs, annual River sweep, appliance
drop-off, and biannual Household Hazardous Waste and Tire Drop-off, and
biannual Computer Recycling Drop-off.

The Delaware
Environmental Education Partnership (D.E.E.P) is an alliance of agencies,
organizations, groups and individuals that provide environmental education
in Delaware County. D.E.E.P. strives to develop environmental
stewards that understand their relationships with natural resources
and make informed and responsible decisions to conserve these resources in
Delaware County and the rest of the world. To learn more about

2008 Household
Hazardous Waste Drop Offs
The
Senior Citizen Appliance, Computer, & Television Pick Up is available to
Delaware County adults ages 60 and older. They may sign up through May
19, 2008 (or until funding lasts) by calling Jenifer Way-Young at
740-368-1700 ext. 2076.

Grants are no longer available due to loss of funding.
Keep Delaware County Beautiful has “Ollie Save
the Planet” CD ROMs available.
Ollie Save the Planet
Ollie Saves the Planet CDs available for teachers.
This software is a fun and interactive way to
engage children in environmental education while at the same time
teaching subjects that you have to teach anyway. The program also
offers resources for teachers.
