The Delaware General Health District Plumbing Unit has jurisdiction to inspect new plumbing and medical gas installations in all of Delaware County except for the cities of Columbus, Dublin, Westerville, and Powell.

The City of Powell Building Department is currently under contract to inspect and issue plumbing permits for properties in Liberty Township on behalf of The Delaware General Health District.

The plumbing inspectors assure the installations meet the State of Ohio Code requirements. Inspections of the plumbing system help to assure the quality of the water you drink within your home, as well as protecting community water source, such as Del-Co Water Co. or Delaware City Water from cross connections.

The plumbing inspectors at The Delaware General Health District are certified by the State of Ohio Department of Commerce and maintain those certifications with continuing education.

Our inspectors meet with homeowners throughout the year to help solve problems that can arise with their plumbing. If you have a question about your plumbing, feel free to call 740-368-1720
