The Plumbing Inspection Unit of the Delaware General
Health District inspects plumbing installations within the Health
District, please see the chart below for exclusions. The inspectors assure
the installations meet the state code requirements. Inspections of the
plumbing system helps to assure the quality of the water you drink within
your home, as well as protecting a community water source, such as Del-Co
Water Co. or Delaware City Water from a cross connection.

Our inspectors
confer with Powell, Delaware City, and other local inspectors to guarantee
consistency of inspections within the county. Inspectors not only meet
with each other to stay up on the code; they have continuing education
requirements to maintain their inspector certification.
Our inspectors
meet with homeowners throughout the year to help solve problems that can
arise with their plumbing. If you have a question about your plumbing,
feel free to call 740.368.1700 and ask for a plumbing inspector.
