The Food Protection and Public Safety Unit Staff inspect schools and school playgrounds twice a year to ensure that safe conditions are maintained for students and staff. Staff use principles of the USEPA's Tools for Schools Program to provide guidance to school personnel on indoor environmental quality issues. In addition, Sanitarians routinely inspect school playgrounds to ensure they are in compliance with Consumer Product Safety Commission guidelines.
