DELAWARE, Oh. โ€” The Delaware Public Health District is pleased to announce the upcoming 2027 funding cycle for the Healthy Communities Micro Grant Program, designed to better support community-driven health initiatives through an improved application and award timeline.

The Request for Proposals (RFP) for the 2027 Healthy Communities Micro Grant Program will be released in late summer 2026, with applications due in the fall of 2026. Funding awards for selected projects will be made available shortly after the beginning of 2027, allowing contracts and community projects to begin earlier in the calendar year.

This updated schedule reflects valuable feedback from past applicants and community partners. Organizations shared that previous timelines made it challenging to plan, contract, and launch projects efficiently. By shifting the funding cycle, the Healthy Communities Micro Grant Program aims to provide grantees with greater flexibility, improved planning capacity, and a stronger start to their initiatives.

The Healthy Communities Micro Grant Program supports local organizations, schools, nonprofits, local governments, and community groups working to improve health outcomes and advance community well-being in the areas of healthy eating and active living. Funded projects often focus on prevention, education, access to services, and other strategies that address local health priorities related to the Delaware County Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).

Detailed eligibility requirements, funding amounts, and application instructions will be included in the RFP upon its release in late summer.

Organizations interested in applying are encouraged to begin planning now and watch for the official RFP announcement.
